we spent the 24th of July in Enterprise at the Terry's Ranch. (Another one of our favorite places to go.) We were able to visit with family, play with cousins and relax.

Lake Powell

This summer started off very busy. Our first excursion was off to lake Powell for an extended Leavitt Family reunion. We had fun seeing cousisns that we don't get to see very often and spending a whole week with them. There were over 60 people and we shared 2 house boats. Lake Powell is one of our most favorite places to go and it is getting funner as our kids get older and are able to do more things. The pictures are some of the highlights of the trip. I have so many more but I just selected a few.

This was the huge water slide the guys made for the kids. They had a blast!

School has ended and the last days are over. We had a great year with lots of memories with new and old friends.

On the last day of school Megan and friends came to the house and spent over an hour looking at their year books and signing them and adding more paper so they could write more. They have had a great year. Our house has been one of the hang out places and I have loved getting to know all of these kids. There is even one who calls me mom and wants to be adopted into our family---It's Great!

For Mother's Day Dave bought me this new camera! It has taken me a while to figure it out but in the mean time I have loved taking pictures. It makes it so much more fun when you have a nice camera. On April 30 Bear finally turned 5 years old. He had to have a count down calender so he didn't ask every day when his birthday was. I had to be gone to work meetings on his birthday so Dave was incharge. He took him to Wal Mart and bought him a new bike and took all the kids to dinner. On Saturday we had a party and invited the neighbor hood boys to Jumpin Jacks. They had a blast. He went there for his birthday last year and loved it so much that he wanted to go back again. Then came back to the house for cake and rootbeer floats. I think he had a great birthday! Happy Birthday, Bear! We love you!!

Trip to Moab

We had a nice and relaxing time on our trip to Moab with Dave's parents and their friends. We saw a lot of beautiful country and ate good food and had great company. We would definately do it again.

We had the funnest Easter weekend with my family at a place called Warm Springs, NV. It is a church owned facility and missionaries run it. It is truely an oasis in the desert. It is a natural warm spring which fills the pools and flowing rivers to play in. My brother Nate and his family came from Logan to be with us. We swam the whole day and had an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids. So much fun!

Dave and I have been talking about "bear" and the fact that he will be going to Kindergarten next year and we still call him "bear". We started calling him "bear" just a few minutes after he was born. He was a huge baby weighing 10lbs 1 oz and 22 in long. We also had a hard time naming him. I knew I wanted his middle name to be David but never had a first name. We named him Matthew David after he was about 5-6 days old but the name "bear" was already stuck in place and it is still stuck and fits him. But...kindergarten is coming up and he has to spell his name "Matt" and his teachers call him Matthew and his friends all call him "bear" and I don't know if it is too confusing to him or too babyish or what??? What would you do?

Bear has been so sick for the past 4-5 days. He has had a high fever and cough and hasen't eaten so he has no energy. Today he was feeling a little better and wanted to try out his skates. I put them on him, he went outside, and I didn't hear from him for about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, Megan came home from school and saw him laying on the grass. He had fallen asleep on the grass, enjoying the beautiful sunshine. (I had to check him to see if he had fallen on his skates and hit his head) So cute! What 5 year old falls asleep outside on the grass?!?

MOVIE NIGHT!

On Friday Bear and Emilie had a movie night with the neighbors. They sent out invitations,told them we would watch Bolt, and had them all bring their favorite snack. This was so much fun. I fixed up their snacks, took a few pictures and turned on the movie. All the kids were so excited, they even came in their pj's. I went down to check on them and they were all actually watching the movie. I didn't think they would make it all the way through, but they did and it was the cutest thing ever!

Once the movie was over they all got a little on the wild side and we had to find a quiet activity to do until their parents came. Such a cute group of kids!

Just posting our busy Saturday! We did so many fun things and it kept us all busy...busy enough that Dave didn't even go to work. (And he has to be really busy for him not to be doing taxes this time of year)
We started off our morning helping put together the Special Needs Easter Egg Hunt which I do for work and it was a great success. We have participated in this for 3 years now and we love it.

We then headed over to Megan's Basketball games (this is really why Dave missed work). It is so much fun to watch her and her friends play, they have always been undefeated and so far this year they are carrying on the tradition. She played 3 games today against Hurricane, Kanab and Pine View and won them all. They just have next week until the tournament.

Inbetween her games I ran Emilie to her soccer game. She loves playing the game and the best part is that she gets a snack at the end of the game.

Last but not least we had dinner at my mom's with all of the Holland family. It was so fun to see them all. It has been a long time since we have been with them and it was fun to get cought up and see how big all of their kids are doing.

We had a great Spring Break this year. We did nothing and it was so relaxing. My sister came down for part of the break from Fallon, Nevada with her kids and we played with them. We went to zions and hiked the Emerald Pools and Josh did the whole hike! I was amazed that he made it the whole way without having to be carried. "Bear" ran the whole way and I huffed and puffed the whole way (I am so out of shape). Of course Dave worked and he didn't get to come with us. We had a fun time.

The rest of the week the kids ran around with the neighbors and I scrapbooked for 4 straight days. We sent Megan to Disneyland with her friends. What a relaxing week!

Hopefully I can stay caught up with my blog. I have been so unmotivated lately and last night at bunko I got remotivated!! (Big thanks to Gretchen, Lainee and Dana!!!) They have published thier whole year of blogging into a book and it is AMAZING!. She doesn't even have to scrapbook anymore and the journaling is done.. Hallalulia! I am going to try this I wish I could go back and put posts of the whole year last year but I think I will just start with this year and move forward...who has the time to go back.

Well, I love horseback riding and I don't think I have been on a horse for at least 15 years and I tried getting on it and mannnn... I could hardly swing my leg over. I felt so old at this moment in my life. I still love horses and Josh especially loved it. He didn't want to get off. We are glad Scott and Sandee are providing us with a little Saturday entertainment.

We were the lucky recepiants of Jazz tickets from Dave's brother for Christmas!!! We had seats 1&2 on row A right on the floor, it was amazing. We went with Dave's parents and had a great time!!! This was last night and they played the Spurs, they lost but it was a good game. We were so close that Dave was able to yell at the refs... and they could actually hear him and he could talk on the players as they were shooting. 7 or 8 Mascotts were there for the Jazz Bear's Birthday and they made it even more fun for us while the Jazz were warming up. Thanks scott for a great time!

Well, I have finally found a moment of alone time, it seems, for this whole month. I can't believe how crazy it has been, and I can't believe how long it has been since I have blogged. Sorry for not updating. I told Dave I was going to loose all of my blogger friends if I didn't post something soon. So I thought I would post a few of our Christmas pics for the Holiday season.

Christmas gift exchange at Grandma Leavitt's house. The kids all drew names around Thanksgiving time and we traded gifts on Christmas Eve. It is so much fun for the kids to shop for each other and give them their gifts. We then usually go to the Santa Clara Christmas Eve program but decided to skip it this year because my whole family is here for the wedding and we spent Christmas Eve with them.

Christmas Eve at Grandma Jensens's home. These are a few pictures of our party at Grandma Jensen's playing a little Christmas style fear factor. It was a lot of fun. Even my parents played and were good sports about it. Thanks to Jessica, Kaydee and Shelbee for the great party and good food.

It's finally DECEMBER 6th and Emilie made it to her 7th Birthday! YEA!!! She woke up really early this morning and wanted to open just one present. Her new outfit (hence the picture). The rest she will wait for later in the day to open. She chose not to have a party and wants to go shopping for her own present and out to dinner. I love her for not making me throw a party. She makes great choices already! HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMILIE, WE LOVE YOU!!! (if you look really close you can see that she lost her other front tooth and now she just has to ask for her 2 front teeth from santa for Christmas.)

On Monday we went to the Nativity at Tuachan. My mom's ward did the Nativity and my sister and her fience were Mary and Joseph. It was neat to see. After the program Santa is waiting outside for all the little kids to tell him what they want for christmas. A really nice man offered to take our family picture with Santa and then he emailed it to us. It was very thoughtful of him since we didn't know who he was. (just a sad note to mention that this is our only family picture with Josh in it.)

I am so sorry for not updating my blog!!! We just don't have a whole lot going on and I am so, not creative enough to think of anything extra to blog about.

This has been a week of listening to Emilie about her loose tooth. "Augh, is it bleeding?", Mom, feel how loose it is?", "look at this", etc... and then it fell out. She can not handle anything that is even a bit bloody or if she even THINKS it will hurt She will scream...she drives us nuts, but she is so cute at the same time.

We had a really fun Halloween...(The yard was fininshed tonight at 6:00 which made it even better). We started the day off at Emilie's school Halloween parade and then helping with her class party. Its fun to see all the kids her age, they are so cute. After school the work began...Megan wanted to have a party for her friends because they are getting to old to Trick-or-treat. We made all kinds of treats and dipped lots of things in chocolate...Then the party began.

I took the kids trick-or-treating and Dave stayed home to chaperone and answer the door. This is really our first year of actually trick-or-treating in our own neighborhood. We have such great neighbors and friends and it made all the difference in the world.

I took the little kids to Johnson's Spook Ally which was a mistake-they are way too little and completly freaked out!
Anyways here is a few pics of the kids...I didn't have my camera with me so there aren't a lot of pictures.

I just have to say the the 80's were great and it is so funny to see our kids dressed up like we use to - and we actually thought it was cool. They even went outside, had a huge audience and danced to thriller, and ghost busters and watched Goonies...It brought back a few memories

School Lunch today...

Well around 9:30 this morning I got a call from Emilie's teacher to bring her a sack lunch.(We usually look to see what is for lunch and then choose wether or not to eat it or bring a lunch)So her teacher calls me and says that Emilie wants me to bring her a lunch, they are having peanut and butter and jelly sandwhiches. The TEACHER said that they are the grossest thing that they serve and usually the sandwhiches are still frozen when the kids eat them. She wouldn't eat them either. No I am not going to take it up with the lunch ladies, but, come on...kids need their nutrition if they are going to learn anything in school. They should be serving better things.

Yesterday I went to Emilie's school class and helped out for an hour and then had school lunch with her. They served Orange Chicken and rice....that was it (no other food). She got a scoop of rice (which wasn't real rice) and then 3 pieces of chicken...She was starving. Luckily I had my own plate and she ate off of it. They did have a salad bar with carrots and applesauce and orange slices. The apple sauce was gone and the oranges were brown and the carrots were ok. I don't know how they expect the kids to get full off of this stuff...anyways to make long, gross story short...SCHOOL LUNCH SUCKS! With all the modern technology and such a kick on feeding kids healthy foods they aren't doing such a hot job of it in the Elementary schools.

Yep --- can you believe it... Dave's hunting season has ended before it really began...Yesterday, he was called to serve in the Bishopbric as the first councelor. This is a wierd thing to us but we are excited for this. (I didn't really think we were old enough for this, but aren't we are all getting old?!) We are excited to get to know more families in our new ward and the bishopbric is awsome. Dave will make some great friendships there. A friend of mine lives in Central and she invited us to come and pick apples in her back yard. She has so many beautiful trees and a million apples. My kids had so much fun. The trees are low enough that they could climb on them and they loved it. I don't think they really knew apples grew on trees. Funny huh... "Bear" said what are these things... and thought it was so cool that he could eat them right off the tree. Thanks Mindy and Michelle for a great day.

Josh is getting so big and saying the funniest things. His personality is showing more and more as he gets older. These are the funny things he did today...

As I was working on the computer he came up behind me with the blanket on his head and said, "Mom, where are you?"...I thought it was cute.

Later on the same day Josh was helping me cook dinner and he got the bag the cheese was in and put it on his head and said, "Hey, I'm the muffin man." in the funniest voice. FUNNY KID!!

Hershey Kisses

I was reading my cousins blog yesterday and she talked about pumpkin spice Hershey Kisses. They sounded so good to me so I went to wal-mart looking for some. I found the jack pot...Candy Corn Kisses (way better than real candy corn), Carmel Apple Kisses, and Pumpkin Spice Kisses. I LOVED all of them. If any of you know me I am not a Chocolate lover but these were so good. I practically ate the whole bag of the Candy Corn Kisses.. So if you see a little extra poundage on my behind it was because of the Kisses.

"Treking" to our hometown...

Matthew and Emilie were able to be in the Swiss Days Parade this year with our Primary. They thought is was a lot of fun. They also said it is funner to watch the parade than be in it.

Josh saw that Matthew was wearing his cowboy hat and boots and wanted his on too! He makes a cute cowboy! Josh got to watch the parade and get lots of candy!!

For Labor day we decided to take advantage of our natural surroundings and take a trip to Zions with our 3 youngest kids. While riding on the tram Emilie's tooth decided to hang by its last thread. She FREAKED out and was crying ...My tooth, My tooth... The whole bus was staring and laughing lightly to them selves. Needless to say (without any help from her parents) it fell out later that day and the toothfairy did come...

SPOTLIGHT ON MEGAN

This week is dedicated to MEGAN! She has kept us all very busy and we are proud of her for the choices that she is making. This week she made the 8th grade volley ball team, is running for student council, is on the yearbook staff and was just made the Beehive President. She is loving her first year of middle school!

Last night I down loaded megan's camera to the computer and saw these really cute pictures of her and her friends when they were shopping at the mall. Thought I would share them with you. I wish I was as out going and daring as she and her friends are. They are always having a good time.

Tav Finally made it home!!! We were so excited to see him. He served a mission in Washington D.C. Manderine speaking. He arrived in the St. George airport Wednesday night with all of us anxiously waiting to see him. We are so glad Tav is home--especially "bear" he has been talking for about 6 months about Tav playing trains with him. Welcome Home Tav! He reports his mission sunday in my mom's ward at 11:00.

Shopping For A Dress

Today we went shopping for a wedding dress. Kim and her family are still here so we thought it would be a good time for the girls to help Tiffany pick out her wedding dress. We went to one store and bought the first one she tried on. It is very simple and elegant. We even found dresses for the little flower girls to wear. My mom gets to check 2 things off her list now! Our Family Campout

Over the weekend the Wadsworths came to St. George and we all decided to campout at Terry's Ranch in Enterprise. We had a great time together. The kids get along really well and entertain each other the whole time which gives the adults time to sit around and visit. We had 4-wheeler rides and took a ride to pine park and let the kids catch frogs and bugs. Mom, Dad, Dustin, Kim and James slept out under the stars and the rest of us slept in tents. Oh-ya and we ate really good too. We hope to create many memories there and make it a fun place for our family to go over and over. Check out the pictures of our little outing.

WOW! What A Day!

Today was such a crazy day. We started by getting the girls off to school and getting the boys ready for PICTURES!! I think I am nuts to keep going back to Kiddie Kandids because the people there are so not good picture takers. It gets so frustrating there. Well,before we went to have pictures taken we had to go see Doctor Cain for Josh's shots and 2 year checkup. While we were there "Bear" had his ears cleaned out (which happens every 6 mo.) and it took 1 1/2 hours then I had some blood drawn. To make the story short...we were at the Doctors office way too long and we didn't get lunch and we went to take pictures anyways. Josh fell asleep and Bear was hungry and the photographer was ready for her lunch break. We didn't get any pictures of Josh except for a few that he didn't have to smile in. Bear did Great!

Yea! The kids have gone back to school and I finally can get back on some kind of routine!! I can't believe how crazy our summer has been and we haven't even gone on vacation. With moving into the new home and entertaining the kids we have kept very busy. Here are a few pictures of our busy summer.

Ok! So, I Got the Blogging Bug!!!

Ok---so I have started a blog! Wow, I now know what mom's do who don't work. This took so long to figure out but I think I have it now. My next project will be to figure out how to make it cute, but that may have to wait until next summer. I love to read others blogs so I guess it is my turn. I am excited to try this, hopefully others will join in because I think it is a great way for us all to keep in touch and let others know what is happening in our lives.

Family Reunions

We had 2 family reunions this summer both were held in Salt Lake City. The first was a Terry reunion with Jen's family and the second was with The Nuttall family(Dave's Mom's family). We enjoyed both of them and the kids had a blast. Thanks to all who held the reunions and made them a success! "There's something about being around family that makes you feel like you really belong."

Josh Turns 2!!!

Josh finally turned 2 yesterday. He has been going around telling everyone he is 5 for about 3 months and if you as him when his birthday is he will tell you ,August 3rd! It is fun to have a 2 year old around the home. Some of the cute things he is doing...

Sings just like his dad--(Loud and all the time).

-favorite song is "1,2,3 like a bird I sing..."

Loves to hang with "Bear" and Emilie.
Had his first swimming lessons this summer and goes under water.
Gives great kisses, mostly to Megan
Loves to eat anything-expecially watermellon (and he can say the whole word)
Wants keys to the 4-wheeler and Rhino.
Sleeps in the bottom bunk all night long.
He is such a good kid! (I wish they all stayed this good)

My friend Celeste called and invited me to hang out with her in Vegas a couple of weeks ago and to see the Donny & Marie show. We had so much fun! We haven't spent much time together for such a long time and it was good to visit and shop & shop & shop!!! Oh Ya, and walk and walk. But we got the hang of the strip and figured out where everything was and where the best shops were. Thanks Celeste for a fun weekend!!!

At the lake

This was one of our first trips to the lake (Sand Hollow) this summer. Dave and "Bear" are designated as the drivers. I am the offical flag holder (since I am way too old to do anything else!) Megan gets to ski, wake board and knee board and she is getting better at it each time we go. Emilie is our sun bather. We took my sister Tiffany and her soon to be husband, Christian with us to help with the kids and handle the boat. We sure enjoy our time together at the lake.
